Our Philosophy

pursuing jesus in all we do

We strive to teach students how to view their world and their lives through the Bible and to make

decisions and responses based on this guidance. It is the purpose of the school to provide an excellent academic program permeated with Christian love and faith.

Each person affiliated with the school is capable and well trained for their particular task and has a deep concern for the spiritual development of the students. FHHC attempts to establish and maintain an atmosphere that encourages growth in personal faith in Christ and the building of Christian character. FHHC is unique because it presents and develops a distinctively biblical worldview in its curriculum and discipline systems.

The school prepares students not only for college academics but for "works of service so that the body of Christ may be built up” (Ephesians 4:12). The Bible presents the explicit view that God created the universe, its laws, and human beings. Sin, redemption, and reconciliation are concepts that the Bible presents to describe God's view of the human condition. Christ, the Son of God, is the answer to the human condition of sinfulness.

Curriculum

A balanced approach to educaton

At FHHC, we use the Gather ‘Round Homeschool curriculum in our classrooms. It is a Christian unit-study program that can be used with children from the pre-reading stage through twelfth grade. It consists of monthly units, each on a different topic. All subject areas, except math, are taught within each unit, making connections whenever possible in a true unit-study fashion. This is intended to be used as your core curriculum for the entire year, although you could use individual units separately.

Our Team

My wife and I felt really apprehensive about choosing a school for our daughter. We didn't know what option was best for her. After the first few months at (whatever we call our school?) we knew it was the perfect pick. She loves her teachers and classmates and comes home excited to share what she learned each day.

I have 4 children in the Coalition. My kids love the one on one attention and the support that spans from Social to Emotional to Educational. My 9 year old has especially benefited. Public school did not want him held back, but he was far behind the other students in his class both in understanding and in confidence. His teacher at the Coalition has worked hard at boosting his willingness to try new and old things, and has been sure to make sure my son understands what is being taught before moving him to new skills. This has made a night and day difference for my son who now loves school!
