Providing Christmas Gifts to Local Children in Need
The Gift of Hope Christmas Assistance program provides hand-picked Christmas gifts to underprivileged children ages 0-17 in the greater Oroville area. In 2019 we provided Christmas for 1,200 kids!
Parents register their children online in September. We then create 'tags' detailing each child's needs, which are displayed either on this website or on special Christmas Trees in local businesses during October and November.
Donors can then pick a tag and shop for their chosen child! Gifts can be either purchased online and mailed directly to us, or dropped off in person, unwrapped, to our office on 2656 Fort Wayne Street, Oroville. The deadline to bring or mail all gifts is December 6th. Finally, from December 16th-19th we have our Winter Wonderland Giveaway Event, where all the kids get to see what Santa has brought them!
There are two main ways you can support a child with Gift of Hope.
You can choose a child's tag to shop for yourself, or you can make a financial donation and we'll do the shopping for you!
From October onwards, you will be able to choose a tag right here on our website. The child's details will be sent directly to your email. You can then shop online and have the gifts mailed directly to our office, or hit the stores and bring unwrapped gifts by in person. You will also find tags on special Christmas Trees at participating Oroville Businesses
We need volunteers to help with putting together gifts at our Santa's Workshop as well as at our Winter Wonderland Gift Giveaway Party in late December 2020. Watch this space to find out more!
Do you have access to NEW toys, books, clothes or other items that would make great Christmas gifts for a low-income family? Please send or deliver donations to 2656 Fort Wayne St. Oroville, CA 95966 before December 6th.
